The APO-LANTHAR 50mm F2 Aspherical is a high-performance standard lens for full-frame (Nikon FX format) mirrorless cameras using the Nikon Z mount, newly designed based on the Sony E-mount lens that was launched as the highest-performance standard lens in the history of Voigtlander. The apochromatic design reduces the axial chromatic aberration of RGB, which constitutes the three primary colors of light, to as close to zero as possible, achieving performance that completely changes the value of standard lenses. With its sleek style, it also has high mobility and good handling.
Designed exclusively for the Nikon Z mount
Equipped with an optical system optimized for the image sensor of mirrorless cameras that use the Nikon Z mount, this lens has a full-size image circle and can be used with both full-size (Nikon FX format) mirrorless cameras and APS-C size (Nikon DX format) mirrorless cameras.

In addition to thoroughly eliminating various aberrations including axial chromatic aberration, we also pursue the ultimate in resolution and contrast reproduction.
Optical glass and mechanical components that deliver high performance
The lens consists of 10 elements in 8 groups, including 5 elements of anomalous partial dispersion glass and 2 double-sided aspherical lenses, and is also equipped with a floating mechanism.
Electronic contacts for communication with the body
The lens mount is equipped with electronic contacts, enabling electrical communication between the lens and the body. The combination of an electrical communication-enabled body and the latest firmware *1 enables Exif information, in-body image stabilization (3-axis), and three types of focusing support functions (focusing by changing the focus point frame color, focusing by peaking, and focusing by magnifying the image).
12-blade aperture for enjoying bokeh effects
The 12-blade aperture has a special circular shape not only at the maximum aperture of F2, but also at F2.8 and F16, making it possible to create images that make the most of the ”ball bokeh” effect of point light sources.
Manual focus for precise focus control
The all-metal helicoid unit is machined and adjusted with high precision, and the use of high-quality grease that produces just the right amount of torque makes focusing feel smooth and allows for subtle focus adjustments.
